Frances Spencer Barrow

Francis Spencer Barrow, 80, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, He was born January 5, 1944, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Forrest S. Barrow and Mazzie Odell Barrow.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan David Carter; and brothers, Thomas Cameron Barrow, James David Barrow, and Gary Burch Barrow.Spencer proudly served in the United States Air Force. He loved his grandchildren, and going to the beach, especially Oak Island, North Carolina. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, flowers, feeding the deer, and observing many other animals. Spencer was an avid lottery ticket scratcher, loved NASCAR and was a big jokester who loved making people laugh. He was willing to help anyone he could. He was the owner of Spencer Auto Glass/Tree Service by which he made many friends.He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Patsy D. Barrow, son, Marty Carter (Adriene); sisters, Malinda Holley, Kitty Clifton, and Forrest Ann Martin (Glenn); brother, George Richard Barrow (Lisa); grandchildren, Nathan Carter (Lydia), and Alden Carter; numerous nieces and nephews.The funeral will be Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Seth Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at the Barrow Family Cemetery, 2724 Mt. Olivet Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
