Frankie Ramos Vaughn
Frances “Frankie” Ramos Vaughn, formerly of Blankenship Mountain in Narrows, Virginia, was surrounded by her family as she ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 11, 2025, to forever shout on the streets of Glory. Born on May 13, 1944, in the humble community of Giatto, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Arcadio Ramos and Lucille Browning Ramos Morris.
Frankie’s early years would lead her family to the community of Clendennin where hearts grew fond of their tight knit community and the sound of children’s laughter filled the holler as she played alongside siblings and the neighborhood children. It is here where the solid foundation was formed of a heart firmly rooted in Christian Values. Preceding her in death were her parents, along with her siblings, Reyes Ramos, Raymond Ramos, Virginia “Jean” Frazier, Randall Ramos, Brenda Phillips, Sharon Albert, Bucky Morris and her beloved son-in-law, Mark West; and great-grandchildren, Keira and Trevor Catron.
Frankie was the cherished matriarch of a loving family who will forever carry her legacy. She leaves behind her devoted and beloved husband of 64 years, Loman Jackson “Jack” Vaughn, who stood by her side on this life’s journey. Together, they raised their children, Connie Blankenship (Richard), Ricky Vaughn (Carla), Norma Adkins (Gary), Jackie Vaughn (Angie) and Brenda West. They were blessed with their grandchildren, Holly, Shane, Heath, Candice, Christopher, Samantha, Josh, Olivia, Landon, Toshia, Brandon, Travis, Courtney, and Matthew, who filled their lives with so much love, joy and pride. They were further blessed by the gift of sixteen great grandchildren. Her brother, Glen Ramos (Lucille), and sister Phyllis Blankenship; along with many nieces and nephews, will fondly remember Frankie’s strength, spirit, and great love.
Frankie was a story teller, weaving tales of childhood adventures, life as a teenager and of meeting Jack, falling in love and how they withstood all the challenges many years of life would bring them. She found joy in spending time with her family, solace in the pages of her Bible and joy in singing praises to God with the beautiful voice of worship God blessed her with.
Frankie embodied the spirit of Isaiah 40:31 which speaks of the renewing power of faith, the cornerstone of her life. Growing up, she worshiped her Savior at Bethel Chapel and then later in life at North Narrows Tabernacle. Her life was a testament of her devoted, unwavering faith in God’s promises as she climbed the many mountains of life with courage and hope.
Today we remember a lady with a remarkable ability to face life’s challenges with grace, always trusting in her Lord. She was a rock to her family, a shoulder to lean on, and an ear to listen. As we bid farewell, we are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7, well done Frankie, you have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, you have kept the faith. May we all aspire to do the same.
