Freddy Dale Parker

Mr. Freddy Dale Parker, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, at his home.  Mr. Parker was born August 30, 1956, in Surry County, one of three children born to the late Henry Charles and Myrtle Elma Bennett Parker.  Freddy grew up in the White Plains community and graduated from North Surry High School in 1975.  Following his high school graduation, he attended Appalachian State University for two years.  Freddy worked as an architectural draftsman at Dize Awning in High Point for many years.   He is survived by a son, Payton Blackburn Parker; a foster grandchild, Knox Shipman; a sister, Saundra Parker Jones; a niece, Sarah Karnes Pascal; two nephews, David Parker and Jamie Karnes; a special caregiver, Barbara Blackburn; and his special companion, Gracie.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Charles Parker.  A private graveside memorial service will be held for the family at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.  No formal visitation will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Cemetery Association, c/o Dolores Burtnett, 115 Six Acres Lane, Mount Airy, NC   27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
