Gary Ryan Crawford

Gary Ryan Crawford, age 45, of Moneta, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Born on January 19, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois, an only child, moved to Smith Mountain Lake at the age of 8 and has been a resident since. Gary was a loving father to Gia Cristofani Shae Crawford (22) and Jake Richard Ryan Wade (15). He is survived by Mike, Lisa, Michael, and Cortney Crawford, Leroy Schaffer, Randy Crawford and family, Patricia McQueen, Brenda Ritter, and dog Nilla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary Ryan Crawford and Nancy Jean Cristofani, and his grandparents Roy Lee Crawford and Jeanette Barrett. Gary was a graduate of Franklin County High School in 1997. Gary was a master custom home/dock builder and owner of Crawford Construction for 27 years. Gary enjoyed woodworking, spending time with family and friends, and had a special passion for animals. Gary’s drive of life, generosity, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone he knew. His legacy will live on in the memories he created with everyone who knew him. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 6-9 p.m. in Liberty Heights (Directions: located just off Route 122, take first right on Constitution Avenue; at the end of that road there will be a gravel road down to the property where the event is being held).
