Geneva was a strong and independent woman whose life was marked by her warm spirit and appreciation for others. She had a special way of making people feel valued, always expressing heartfelt gratitude for even the smallest acts of kindness. Her joy was contagious, and she brought light and laughter into the lives of those around her.

She found delight in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping at thrift stores, Goodwill, and collecting dolls—treasures that reflected her unique personality and joyful heart.

Above all, Geneva cherished time with her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Randy (Teresa) Smithers, Tony (Anjelenia) Smithers, and Anna (Lance) Starks, and a proud and loving grandmother to Meagan, Sophia, Will, Lily, Randy, Nick, and Jessica. Her love also extended to her great-grandchildren, the joy of her life, Liberty Grace and Emmie Marie, with whom she shared many special and memorable moments. As well as step-grandchildren Hannah, Myra, and Jake—and five step-great-grandchildren, who showed great love to Geneva .

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Stanley and Gertrude Towler Jennings; her first husband, William Lewis Smithers (1965); her second husband, Bobby Stone (1996); her brothers, Bobby Jennings and Junior Jennings; and her sister, Dorothy Jennings.

Geneva is survived by her sisters, Nancy Motley and Joyce (Ed) Cundiff, both of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Jane Moore of Danville, Virginia. Also, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Her faith gave her comfort and hope, and she looked forward with peace to being reunited with her family in Heaven with Jesus.

Geneva’s life was a beautiful example of gratitude, love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
