George Langston Cousin

George Langston Cousin, 77, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 12, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, to the late Jacob Cousin and Burlie Carter Cousin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Cousin and Hunter Cousin, both of Axton.George had a love for cars and worked as a mechanic doing what he did best—fixing what was broken. He also had a love for racing and fast cars and enjoyed hunting and farming. He loved spending time with his great-grandkids and trying to teach them new things. He had a nickname for them all. They loved him and he loved them, and always wanted them around.George leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Wilma Huffman Cousin of the home; three children, Derrek (Misti) Cousin of Danville, VA, Melissa (Steven) Hairston of Martinsville, and Carl Cousin of Chadron, Nebraska; two sisters, Kittie (Linsey) Martin and Geneva (Edward) Foster of Axton; one brother, Walter Melvin Cousin of Danville, VA; and seven grandchildren, Rodney (Ursula) Coleman, Daniel Cousin, Rodrick Coleman, Mieshia Coleman, Brannon Cousin, Caitlyn Cousin, and Jacob Cousin; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.The Graveside Service will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at the Cousin Family Cemetery, 1496 Riley Farm Road, Axton, VA. A Floating Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville.Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
