George Sydney Pelkey

George Sydney Pelkey, 85, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024. He was born September 18, 1938, in Wilmington, New York, to the late Edward Pelkey and Hazel Preston Pelkey.

Geroge proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. After serving his country, he was an asphalt truck driver for many years. In his free time, he loved golf and shooting pool.

He is survived by daughter, Brenda Lee Holthausen (Gregg); stepdaughter, Kim Holichork (Anthony) of New Jersey; stepson, Chris Reutter of New Jersey; brothers, Edward Pelkey of South Carolina, Gregory Pelkey of Florida, and Jimmy Pelkey of New Jersey.

A military rites service will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, at Danville National Cemetery at 11:00 AM, at 721 Lee Street, Danville, Virginia 24541.
