Georgia "Jo" Wilburn Munsey

Georgia “Jo” Wilburn Munsey, 91 of Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Born on November 10, 1934 in Pearisburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Vera Eaton Wilburn. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Dona Wissler, Ernestine Minnick, and Mary Lafon; brothers, Randolph “Doc” Wilburn, Gene Wilburn, and Ted Wilburn.

Jo, as she was known to most people, was a long-time member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was a retired Executive Secretary.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Bond; son, Brian Munsey (Karen); grandchildren, Kendrick Bond (Chrystal), Derrick Bond (Jasmine), Nicole Asciutto (Gary), and Ben Munsey (Faye); eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jaiden, Camron, Jasmin, Dominic, Luca, Lily, and Ella; and one great-great-grandchild, Preston.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at the funeral home.
