Gilbert Edward Allen, 74, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023. He was born January 30, 1949, in Martinsville, to the late Buster Gilbert Allen and Shirley Mae Draper Allen.Gilbert was a Mechanic for Warren Trucking Company; he attended Martinsville High School and he loved to fish in his spare time.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Spencer Allen; stepdaughter, Sharon A. Dillon; stepson, Toney Seay; sister, Sherri Washburn; brother, Marvin Allen; stepbrothers, David Agee, Billy Agee and Ricky Agee; aunt, Nancy Draper; uncle, Frank Draper; 10 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.The graveside service will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Burial Park with Minister Dean White officiating. A floating visitation will be held Monday, September 11, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
