Gilbert Thomas Peery

Gilbert Thomas Peery Sr, 86, of Troutville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024. Born on December 29, 1937, in Troutville, Gilbert lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Peery, with whom he shared many happy years of marriage. 

Gilbert is survived by his loving children: his son, Mike Peery, and wife Kerrie; his other son, Tom Peery, and wife Ann; and his only daughter, Donna Warner. He is also survived by his dear sisters: Francis Lee, Bonnie Cox, Claire Falls, and Martha Riddleberger. His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Clay, Landon, Sarah, Sam, and Zane, as well as his great-grandchild, Leighton Peery. 

A dedicated member of Mt. View Baptist Church, Gilbert’s faith guided him throughout his life. He was also a proud farmer, spending his days working the land and contributing to his community with the same devotion he had for his family. 

Gilbert’s strong work ethic, love for his family, and commitment to his faith will be remembered by all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. 

Services will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Saturday the 9th. Visitation will be from 12-1:30pm. With the Funeral Service following the visitation. After the Funeral Service, the commital will take place at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pastor Danny Barham will be officiating.
