Gloria Brooks Coleman
Gloria, a name derived from Latin origins and directly translates to “glory” or “immense praise”. The ultimate biblical calling for humanity is to ‘Give God the Glory” by reflecting his character, living righteously, and bearing witness to his saving works.
Gloria Brooks Coleman, born January 5th, 1945 in Lynchburg Va, passed away Sunday June 7th as she was called home to be with her momma, Jini. It wasn’t always easy, but she worked hard to create a beautiful life, one to be proud of. She spent her years working for Campbell County Schools and touched the lives of every child who walked through the doors. She dedicated 62 years of her life to giving back to her community, by serving on the Campbell County Rescue Squad Auxiliary. She was known by many and loved by all.
Gloria was a woman of many talents and a lot of determination – she loved to cook, paint, and sew, but her greatest achievement in life was the family she created. She was so immensely proud of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was making a birthday cake, decorating for the holidays, or supporting them at an event, she always took the time to make them feel special and loved.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Miles Stephen Coleman; daughter Michelle Ford and husband Brian Ford; son Monty Coleman and wife Angela Coleman; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Alisa), Brooke (Aj), Zach (Madison), Kelsey (Nick), Tyler (Anna), Chase (Logan), Hailey; nine great-grandchildren, Juliette, Heidi, Helix, Everly, Samuel, Harper, Zephy, Miles, and Raleigh, and her beloved Oatmeal Cream Pies.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm Friday June 12, 2026 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Adam White officiating.
Following the service a gathering in her honor until 9pm at the Forest Recreation Center, 1088 Rustic Village Rd. Forest VA 24551.
