Graydon Iredell Peters

Graydon Iredell Peters, 91, of Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Moody and Agnes Peters; his wife, Frances Webber Peters; and his sister, Diane Pickeral.

Graydon and his late wife, Frances, were avid coin collectors who always knew the best places to find stray change and enjoyed sharing their discoveries with family. He also took great pride in the fact that he spent more years retired than working, having retired at the age of 55. An outdoorsman at heart, Graydon enjoyed golfing and bicycling throughout his life.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, David Peters and wife, Karen; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Wayne Peters; his sister, Nadine Stump; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
