Gregory Lewis Coghill

Gregory Lewis Coghill was born November 12, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia. He was the son of the late Luther G. Coghill, Jr. and Annie E. Coghill.

He is survived by his sister Patricia Smith of Chester, Virginia, two nieces, a nephew, and numerous cousins, especially Steve Robinson of Powhatan, Virginia, as well as special friends from Amherst County where he resided.

Gregory was blessed with great musical talent, playing multiple instruments well, beginning in his Manchester High School band days. He loved traveling and performing with his bands, spending his last years making music at Arcadia in Amherst with his friends, especially Matt “Rock” Komoroski, who with his wife Fran Paul, had welcomed Gregory to their sanctuary. He was also a gifted artist but chose the musical path.

Gregory’s friends will be holding a celebration of life on the mountainside in late October. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift to support your favorite park or arts program.
