Gregory Via

Gregory (Greg) Eugene Via, age 64, of Covington, died Friday, August 28, 2026 at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem.

Mr. Via was born August 30, 1961 in Clifton Forge, the son of the late Marvin Julian Via and Maxine Morris Via. He was a lifetime resident of this area. Greg was a certified journeyman electrician and had worked for Myers Electrical as well as Dominion Power during his working career.

Mr. Via is survived by his sisters, Dreama Finney of Berryville, VA and Jane Sexton of Oak Hill, WV; his fiancée, Kathy Hinkle and her family, Travis Hinkle (Tabitha), Miranda Hinkle (Matthew), Tyler Hinkle (Ashleigh), Hunter Hinkle, Isaiah Wood, and Rowen Pritt; three nephews, Brad Sexton of Hickory, NC, Todd Finney of Winchester, VA and Patrick Finney of Hedgeville, WV; two great-great nephews, Joshua Crane of Winchester, VA and Steven Crane of Berryville, VA; and his favorite fur baby, Layla.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
