Gumersindo Perez Dapena

Gumersindo “Papi” Perez Dapena, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, on his 81st birthday.

Papi was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a patriot and a gardener. He was funny, stern but fair, and a go getter. He was a rock to his family. He helped anyone in need and was loved by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gumersindo Sotelos, and his mother, Rosa Perez.

Those left to cherish his memory are loving wife, Dianna Via-Dapena; daughters, Rosa Hadden and Rodelin Palmer (Allen); grandsons, Andrew and Tavi.

The Family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home Roanoke, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 1-2 PM, followed by a Celebration of Papi’s life at 2pm with Pastor Jorge Columbie.
