H. Garry Barrow

H. Garry Barrow, 82, of Oak Level, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 29, 1940, the son of late Hugh Delmore Barrow and the late Vera Davis Barrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Smith.

Garry was a U. S. veteran, having served in the National Guard. He was a charter member, past President and recipient of the Tom Downing award of the Oak Level Ruritan Club. Garry was a past Deacon of Oak Level Baptist Church and loved farming and making Apple butter.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nellie Mae Frith Barrow; daughter, Katina Pettit and husband Lee; granddaughter, Kaylee Grace Pettit; special sister-in-law, Hazel Frith; care givers, Freddie Daniels, Marquita Wooding, Ronda France, C. J. Fuller, Mary Wooding and Donna Stone.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM at Henry Memorial Park in Bassett with Pastor Joe Glass officiating.
