Harold Ondrick
Harold Ondrick passed away peacefully at his home on May 16, 2026. He was born in Middlesex County, NJ, on September 27, 1938. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Ellen Ondrick; his mother, Anna Ondrick; his sister, Nancy McDaniel; his brother-in-law and best friend, Wayne Mays; and numerous other brothers- and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Juanita Ondrick; his sons Michael Ondrick (Deborah) and Robert Ondrick (Holly); and his sister Joanne Robinson. His family grew to include eight grandchildren: Sean Ondrick (Madison), Caitlyn Wood (David), Skylar Ondrick (Cody), Mick Angus, Michelle Alger, Dustin Campbell (Alexia), Koryn Gonzales (Esa), and Shayn Johnson (Carissa). His legacy continued to grow with 12 great-grandchildren: Clare, Elius, Grant, Callie, Kasey, Chloe, Cypress, Tobias, Amber, Karly, Kayley, and Kenzleigh. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Jerry Campbell (Jan) and Jimmy Price, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold joined the U.S. Navy in 1956, where he met his best friend and future brother-in-law Wayne Mays, who introduced him to his wife and life in Amherst, Virginia. After his military service, he worked at BWX, retiring after 35 years of service. His family will remember him fondly with memories of times spent together. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
