Harrison Luther Wiseman
Harrison Luther Wiseman, age 98 of Hardy passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Runk and Pratt Senior Living. He was born August 24, 1927 in Stanaford, West Virginia. Known as "Babe" to friends and family. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Tillian and Edith Wiseman; his brothers, Tillian Jr and Lawrence; his sons, Jimmy Wiseman and Earl Wiseman; and his granddaughter, Beth Wiseman. Surviving are his children, Charlotte Nappi, Jimmy Wiseman, Danny Wiseman, Earl Wiseman and Sam Wiseman; grandchildren, Jimmy, Ginger, Karla, Jessie, Daniel, Benjamin, Sammy, Jacob and Beth; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Isabella, Remy, Charlotte Marigold, Lilli, Kaiden, Scarlett, Elliot, Jax, Jagger and Birdy Rose; many nieces and nephews who thought he was the greatest uncle ever. Mr. Wiseman was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for sixty-five years. He served his country with honor in World War II in the Navy. He started work at a young age to help his family out after his Dad lost his leg in a coal mining accident. His grandfather died in the Eccles Mine Disaster. He worked in the coal mines as well before becoming an electrician. He was a proud Southern Democrat and didn't shy away from telling folks exactly what he thought. An avid fisherman, golfer, and photographer, he could fix anything he laid his hands on from cars to homes to furniture. He continued driving all over the USA to visit his friends and family till 2019, logging many thousands of miles. He loved nothing more than a strong cup of coffee with some Jim Bean, and a homemade meal with those he cared about. He had a sweet tooth for chocolate, gingersnaps, and peanut butter cookies. Babe lived many lives during his almost 100 years on earth, and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He left this earth peacefully in the arms of his granddaughter, Karla. One of his favorite sayings was "Look out for those cars with no drivers." We hope you'll take his advice to heart as you go about your own travels. We love you, Babe. Rest easy. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
