Harry "Dickie" Edward Moses, Sr. 88, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026.

Born on October 15, 1937, Dickie witnessed nearly nine decades of change and progress. Those who knew him appreciated his straightforward nature, strong work ethic, and quiet confidence.

Dickie spent most of his life in the Lynchburg area, where he built lasting connections and earned the respect of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelma and Ernest Moses; his 3 brothers, Gordon, James, and Clarence; and his loving wife, Peggy.

Throughout his life, Dickie enjoyed simple pleasures, familiar routines, and the company of friends and family. He was a retired painter and a proud member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. He appreciated the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working with firewood. He also loved watching wrestling with his grandsons, Barrett Moses and Cole Hackney. His memory will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dickie is survived by his beloved children, Belinda Martin (Roger), Harry "Bud" Moses, Jr. (Tonya), Wendy Moses (Ellen), Angela Moses (Brian), and Steven Moses (Alvin), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family extends sincere appreciation to the healthcare professionals and caregivers at Centra who provided compassionate care during his final days.

Dickie’s journey was long and well lived, and he will be remembered with respect, gratitude, and affection by all whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held to honor Dickie's life and memory at Whitten Timberlake Chapel on Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 2-4 pm.
