Helen Garst Taylor

Helen Garst Taylor, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline "Polly" Garst.

Helen was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and a member of Community Church. She retired after working for many years as an underwriting secretary for Allstate Insurance Company. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, bowling and most of all spending time with family, especially her granddaughters.

Surviving is her son, Pete Taylor (Vangie); granddaughter, Emily Taylor Schmitt (Matt), and Madison Taylor (fiancé Josh Brammer); one great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, and cousins; Special thanks to cousin Sandy Garst Hunter, for her love and devotion to Helen.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff at Richfield Care and Recovery Center for their many acts of kindness and compassion during Helen's illness.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Electric Road Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home 3912 Electric Road. Interment will be private.
