Helen Granger

Helen Rhodes Granger, 98, of Roanoke, VA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born on December 21, 1924, to the late Leslie Rhodes and Betty Crawford Rhodes. She retired from General Electric after thirty years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward “Ed” Granger; and five siblings.

She is survived by two sons, and daughters-in-law, Gary and Debbie Granger, and Greg and Lydia Granger; two devoted grandchildren, Bradley Granger and wife, Jenna; and Dessa Granger and fiancé, John Mrazik; great-granddaughter, Emrey Kate Granger; and a sister, Gaynor Hearn and her husband Bill; special niece, Vickie Guthrie and husband, Pete.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care provided by Delores Underwood, and Good Samaritan Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3000 Pitzer Rd., Roanoke, VA 24014 with Pastor Eric Spano officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Helen has been cremated and reunited with her husband Ed and they will be buried together at a family interment service in Salem, VA.
