Helen M. Brubaker Sledd

Helen M. Brubaker Sledd, 99, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was a daughter of the late, James H. Brubaker and Elsie Stanley Brubaker. In addition, her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Brubaker and wife, Nellie; infant sister, daughter-in-law, Frances Sledd; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Greer (Roy); grandchildren, Michael Greer (Amber), Matthew Greer (MaryAnne) and Megan Greer; great-grandchildren, Brody Greer and Trevor Reed; a son, James “Jimmy” Sledd; grandchildren, Lora Ann Byrd (Brad), Randy Robertson, great-grandchildren, Eli Sink (Halie), Nicole Mantie and Randi Michelle Hammock (Luke); great-great-granddaughter, Teagon McGuire; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke with Pastor Brian Geiser officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Church of the Brethren. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon prior to the service.
