Helen Marie Kitts

Helen Marie Kitts, 96, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard N. Kitts; and an infant daughter, Susan Marie Kitts.

Helen is survived by her sons, Gary Kitts (Hazel), Allen Kitts (Brenda), and Kevin Kitts (Joan); daughter, Lori Smith; grandchildren, Derek Kitts (Kim), Devon Kitts (Sherry), Damon Kitts (Shanita), Zachary Kitts (Ivana), Corey Kitts (Sylvia), Amy Kitts, Jeremy Kitts (Lauren), Kaitlyn Barna (Jos), and Braden Smith; many great grandchildren; and sisters, Margaret Fox, Edith Bohon, and Carolyn Flora.

Helen, who loved her family, was a lifetime member of Preston Oaks Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Helen enjoyed crafts and vacationing at the beach. She had a witty sense of humor that was enjoyed by all, and her life was filled with laughter and love.

A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd. Roanoke, VA 24019, officiated by Dr. Joseph Greene. A Visitation will be held one hour prior, from 12 -1pm. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
