Henry Allen Conley

February 1, 1938 - October 12, 2023

HENRY ALLEN CONLEY, 85, of Bland, VA, went home to be with the Lord he served Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Bland County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his family. He was born February 1, 1938 in Hollybrook, VA, the son of the late Rudolph & Ila Conley. 

Henry Allen was a devout Christian and was a member of Hollybrook Church of Christ.  He ministered to several Church of Christ churches over the years. 

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bland American Legion Post # 20 and the Bland VFW Post # 7969 and enjoyed serving in many capacities in both organizations. 

He enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine. He enjoyed staying fit and exercised all the time. He was a gun enthusiast and loved buying vehicles. 

Henry Allen lived life well and will be greatly missed by those who loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Rudolph & Ila Gleaves Hart Conley, his daughter, Rebecca Via, his brother, Dewey Conley and his sisters, Janie Stanley and Maxine Morehead.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years,  Libby Wyatt Conley; his daughters & sons-in-law, Ila & Kevin Willis and Sharon & Kevin May; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Blankenship & Michael Jackson,  Jenna & Jonathan Neal , Gavin Blankenship, Jessica Via, Anthony & Mandy Newberry, Lindsey Brown, Andrew & Paige Willis, Trista Willis, Bradley Willis, Benjamin & Zanna May, Justin & Cindy May, Josh & Mandee May and India May;  his 26 great-grandchildren; his brother & sister-in-law, Jim & Ginger Conley; his sisters & brother-in-law, Mary Ramsey and Debbie & Ronnie Phillips; many loved nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Hollybrook Church of Christ with Glenn Tabor, Jr., Jim Conley, Josh May and Justin May officiating. There will be a time for friends and family to speak and the family encourages everyone to bring their memories and stories to be told. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery with military rites provided by the Bland American Legion Post #20 and the Bland VFW Post #7969.The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 A.M. until service time, 12:00 P.M.
