Henry Lynwood Reynolds

Henry Lynwood Reynolds, 87, passed away on March 28, 2024, surrounded by his family, he was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on June 9, 1936 to the late Ercie Adkins Reynolds and the late Henry Oscar Reynolds. He was predeceased by the wife of his children, Mrs. Carlene Smith Reynolds, and also his second wife, Mrs. Jean Reynolds.

Mr. Reynolds attended Liberty Baptist Church. He was the founder, and owner operator of Reynolds Asphalt and Paving for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather and family man. He had a particular love for fishing.

Lynwood is survived by a daughter; Kim Reynolds Johnson of Chatham, VA; a step daughter; Kim Shields (Ronald) of Chatham, VA; two step sons; Michael Saunders of Callands, VA and Monte Saunders of Danville, VA; nine grandchildren; Heather Bray (Sam), Megan Blair (Brian), Justin Johnson (Emily); Abigayle Woodel, Miles Shields (Erin), Jessica Brown, Monica Breeding (Zane), Seth Saunders (Michelle), and Katie Worsham (Chris); 15 great grandchildren; a special great nephew; Stanley Reynolds (Wendy); close and special friends; Alice Owen, Faye Reynolds, Larry Daye; and special fishing friends; Mike and Janice Tucker.

In addition to his parents and wives, Lynwood was predeceased by two sons; Henry Edwin Reynolds and Jerome Kyle Reynolds; a sister; Iris Farthing; three brothers; Harold “H.C.” Reynolds, Lee B. Reynolds, and Allen Reynolds; step son; Maxey Saunders; and his special dog; Happy.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 18529 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24530 or Callands Fire and Rescue, 11741 Callands Road, Callands, VA 24530.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 1:00pm at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA with Pastor Daryl Joyce officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 6:30pm-8:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
