Herbert Glenn White

Herbert Glenn White Jr., 77, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away on September 2, 2026. Born May 4, 1949, in Surry County to the late Herbert White Sr. and Martha Southard White. Herbert was a member of Double Creek Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 37 years. He also served as the first Fire Chief at the South Surry Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed dirt racing in his younger years and maintained friendships within that community. Herbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandra Stanley White; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason White and Melissa, and Zack White and Jenifer; grandchildren, Madison Cockram and Brycen, Karlie Mills and Austin, Abby White, Isaac White, Ezra White, and Abram White; great grandchildren, Avery Cockram, Adalynn Cockram, Asher Cockram, Ryleigh Mills, Colter Mills, and Emorie Mills; honorary family member and caregiver, Neil Settle; and special friend, Barry Martin, car restoration enthusiast. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Double Creek Church of Christ. A funeral service will be held, following the visitation at 11:00 AM at Double Creek Church of Christ with Pastor John Elmore officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The would like to extend special thanks to all the caregivers from Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as the staff at SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin.
