Iva Jeannette Vest Smith

Iva Jeannette Vest Smith, 88, widow of David R. Smith, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Russell T. and Violet Moore Vest Smith. In addition to her parents and her husband of 64 years, she was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Diane Vest; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Bobby Smith.

She was a long-time member of Shenandoah Baptist Church and prior to that was a member of Belmont Presbyterian Church.

She will be missed and remembered by her children, Michael Smith and his wife Sandra, Beverly Williams; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; nephews, Kevin Smith, Ricky Smith, Chad Smith, Russ Vest, Scott Vest and Tim O’Leary; a niece, Susan Starkey.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Smith and Pastor Wes Belcher officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Missions Fund at Shenandoah Baptist Church.
