He was an accomplished country/bluegrass singer, musician, and songwriter. His best memories were playing and singing with his friends and band members and other accomplished singers, songwriters, and musicians, too many to list. During his singing career, he played in multiple venues including festivals, conventions, television, and radio. During his later years, he enjoyed Friday nights at the Floyd BarberShop in Floyd, Virginia.
Ivan retired from Anchor Hocking in Salem, NJ with 27 years of service as a painter. He owned and operated a nursery while working, playing in bands, and raising his family. He was an antique collector throughout his life.
Ivan lived his life to the fullest during his 90 years. His singing began when he was three years old and he sang his last song the week before his death, thanks to his dearest musician friends. He was admired by his friends and fellow musicians for the life he led as his word was his bond. He will be missed by his family, friends, and fans.
