Ivy Kenyon Stafford

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, Ivy Kenyon Stafford, Jr., 91, was welcomed to his Heavenly home by those who preceded him on this journey including his wife, JoAnn Stafford; father, Ivy Kenyon Stafford; mother, Sophia Berghauser Stafford; and sisters, Helen Davis and Betsy Sue Haney.

He will be missed and remembered in this life by his children, Frank M. Stafford, Todd E. Stafford and his wife, Deborah, Joan Elizabeth Stafford; grandson, Jordan Thomas Stafford; sister, Ann Reece and her husband, John; several nieces and nephews.

Ken worked his entire career for General Electric in Salem, Virginia, after serving in the Air Force. He was fortunate to live as many years in retirement as he did in the work force. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served in various leadership roles for the lost 40 plus years.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, as well as his caretakers for his last few weeks at Friendship South.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church.

A service will be held to celebrate his life at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church in Salem with Pastor Hilton Jeffreys officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
