Jack David Gillispie
Jack David Gillispie, age 89, was peacefully welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at his home in Radford, Virginia. He was surrounded by the love of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A devoted father, grandfather and friend, Jack will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and deep love for his family. Jack’s entire life revolved around his family. He deeply loved his wife and children, and everything he did was focused on their happiness and wellbeing. He and his wife shared a love for traveling together. Following her passing, Jack found comfort and joy in camping where he made many lasting friendships. Jack began working as a mechanic in his early twenties and dedicated more than 40 years to this profession. Even after retiring as a mechanic, he continued working by delivering automotive parts until his retirement at the age of 82. Years ago, Jack came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. This relationship transformed his life, and he enjoyed sharing his testimony with others. His faith was an important source of strength in his life. He was a faithful member of Snowville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Saunders Gillispie; his father, Floyd Harvey Gillispie; his mother, Geneva Cook Gillispie; and his brother, Sonny Gillispie. His legacy of love and faith lives on through his family. He is survived by his children, Victoria "Vicki" Memitt, Patricia Ferrell (James), and Matthew Gillispie (Jennifer); his sister, Cleo Rhymer; his grandchildren, Skyler Quesinberry (Mark), Maegan Caldwell (Brandon), Tucker Ferrell, and Kayleigh Gillispie; and his great-grandchildren, Willow, Aria, and Joel Quesinberry, and Mason and Eli Caldwell. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care and support, with special thanks to Morgan, Kendra, and Brittany for their wonderful care. Service Information: Services will be held at McCoy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tony Hart officiating.
