Jack Fred Burton

JACK FRED BURTON, 85, of Bland, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at his home. He was born February 18, 1938 in Bland County, the son of the late Fred & Ethel Burton. 

Jack was a good hearted, giving man who loved his family and friends.  He was Godly and Spiritual and enjoyed reading scripture and listening to Gospel Music.  He took pride in his work and retired from the Maryland Mass Transit Association.  He enjoyed shooting pool and fixing up antique cars. 

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Houston & Ethel Myers Burton, his son, Richard Fred Burton, a grandson, Justin Edward Burton and his sisters, Margie Burton and Dimple Louise Faulkner.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Kevin Burton; his daughters & son-in-law, Connie Burton Fowble, Tammy & David Lorenz and RaeEllen & Chuck Egan; his grandchildren, Shianne, Garrett, Cori & Brad Case, Sarah, David Lee and Jacob & Alicia Burton; and his great-grandchildren, Colton, Brantlei, Axel, Maxwell and Zachary.

Funeral services are planned for Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Philip Buttery officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery with military rites provided by the Bland American Legion Post # 20 and Bland VFW Post # 7969.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. and again from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
