Jack Wilbur Waldron, of Pearisburg, a cherished patriarch, and steadfast servant of faith, departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on November 3, 2024, at the age of 93, in Christiansburg, Virginia in the care of Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Born on June 8, 1931, in Virginia to Dennis and Katherine Lucas Waldron, Jack was a man who always walked in the light of the Lord, leaving a trail of kindness and faith wherever he roamed.
Jack's early years were spent in the scenic landscapes of Virginia, grew to be a man of strength, tempered with the gentle touch of Christ. His life was a tapestry of close-knit family ties, and he leaves behind a legacy through his daughter, Brenda Smith (married to Bobby), his son, Mark Jennings (married to Kay), his daughter-in-law, Lisa Waldron, his adored grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Cody Waldron (married to Lexi), Katie Simpson (married to Joseph), and three great-grandchildren. Jack's brother, Johnny Waldron (married to Ivy), along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, will fondly remember his guiding presence.
Jack's dedication to his country was evident through his service in the Army National Guard. His professional life as a Millright at Celanese showcased his work ethic and skill, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional endeavors, Jack was a man of many interests and talents. He was known as a jack of all trades, but his true mastery was in loving his neighbor. Jack's life was a testament to his enduring faith. He never missed an opportunity to share his testimony, always witnessing for his Lord and Savior with the hope of winning souls for God. His conversations were filled with reflections on his relationship with God, and his fervent desire was to walk the streets of Glory with all his family and friends.
Community was important to Jack, and he was a beloved member of the Hardees Breakfast Club in Pearisburg. There, amongst friends, he engaged in lively debates and, with humor and wisdom, offered solutions to the world's problems over morning coffee. Jack's passion for tinkering with vehicles, riding his motorcycle, and collecting guns were hobbies that reflected his multifaceted nature and mechanical ingenuity.
Faith-filled, loving, and wise are the words that encapsulate Jack's essence. He was a man who lived by his convictions and loved unreservedly. His presence was a source of comfort and guidance to all who knew him. He has surely heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Jack's legacy will continue to resonate through the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the lives he touched.
