Jacqueline "Jackie" P. Reynolds
Jacqueline "Jackie" P. Reynolds, 94, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Jackie was a longtime member of Fort Lewis Christian Church. She had a love for classic western movies and, like many of her generation, enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley in her younger years. Jackie worked as a dedicated bookkeeper for Blue Ridge Beverage until her retirement at the age of 80, a testament to her strong work ethic and commitment. Earlier in her career, she also worked at Beach Brother’s Dodge.
Widowed at a young age, Jackie raised her youngest son, Tony, with grace, strength, and love. She was a resilient and devoted mother, grandma, and sister. Jackie had a deep fondness for angels and surrounded herself with a cherished collection over the years — a reflection of her gentle spirit and enduring faith. Jackie faced a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, showing remarkable strength and resilience throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randolph “Randy” Reynolds; her parents, Dora and Albert Pendleton; her sister, Nancy Mussleman; her brothers, David Pendleton and Junior Pendleton; and many cherished sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mozelle Dobyns, Evelyn Hall, Winslow Thurman, Juanita Reynolds, Charlotte Walker, John Reynolds Jr., Calvin Reynolds, Frank Reynolds, and James Schoolcraft Reynolds. Jackie is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews who passed before her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Anthony “Tony” Reynolds (Anna) and Randolph “Doug” Douglas Reynolds, Jr. (Lisa); grandchildren, Derek Reynolds, Nicole Reynolds, Laura Foster, Kevin Foster, Jennifer Foster, Erick Reynolds (Lauren), and Jody Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Aubree Barber, Layla Gonzalez, Kaitlyn Reynolds, Abigail Reynolds, and Benjamin Reynolds. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Obenchain (Buddy); sisters-in-law, Kay Pendleton and Lucille Pendleton; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jackie shared a special connection with her nieces Lori Ann Bishop (Wes) and Betty Rice, who were a thoughtful and loving presence in her life through the years.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org.
