James Cassell

James Robert Cassell, 87, of Patrick Springs, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. He was born January 4, 1937, in Patrick Springs, Virginia, to the late Robert James Cassell and Nannie Mae Craig Cassell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William “Bill” Cassell, Carl Cassell, Curtis Cassell and Larry Cassell; and a grandchild, Christopher Shough.

James was of the Baptist faith and loved attending church at Goodwill Baptist Church in Patrick Springs. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during peace time. He loved his grandbabies dearly and enjoyed spending his free time with them. He also enjoyed mowing the grass, splitting wood, and caring for honeybees. James was a loving husband, father, and Papa.

James is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cassell; daughters, Deborah Dalton (Buck), Sandra Martin; special daughter, Angela Brown; son, James “Peanut” Cassell, Jr., (Lisa); sisters, Judy Holloway, Linda Thomas (Don), Dorothy Clifton, Debbie Shorter; brothers, Lonnie Cassell (Linda), Chester Cassell (Kaye), and Dickie Cassell (Vickie); grandchildren, Brad Cassell, Jonathan Martin (Lauren), Leann Miller (Robbie), Bryan Cassell (Sarah), Abigail Brown; and 5-great grandchildren.
