James Craige Mobley
James Craige Mobley, 76, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. James was born in Danville, VA on January 23, 1949 to the late Wanda Pippin Mobley and the late Rudy Stanford Mobley. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Debbie Mobley.
James was of the Christian Faith, and was an active member of North Main Baptist Church. While in church, he very much enjoyed ministry, taking multiple mission trips, both here and in several foreign countries. He also took great joy in children of the church and encouraging those around him. He was a loving family man that cared for his entire family. James worked for many years as a Fire Fighter for the City of Danville, VA, and was the owner/operator of Cars Plus, previous to his retirement.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by a daughter; Brandy Thomas and husband Todd of Danville, VA; a son; Bryan Mobley and wife Angela of Danville, VA; five grandchildren; Elaine Mobley, Wyatt Mobley, Jesse McRill, Lilly Thomas, and Emma Thomas; and a great grandson; Colton Mobley.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by three sisters; Joyce Mobley, Jackie Madden, and Pat Scearce.
The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
A visitation to receive friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 2:00-4:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
