James Edward Inman, Jr. Obituary
James Edward Inman, Jr., 69, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 5, 2026. He was born September 6, 1956, in Patrick Conty, Virginia, to Marie Tucker Inman, the late James Edward Inman, Sr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Inman Miles.
James graduated from Drewry Mason High School with the class of 1974 and went on to build a career in information technology (IT). He worked for Tultex and Remington Arms in Bassett for more than three decades. In his quieter moments, James enjoyed reading, listening to music, and watching sports. As his health declined, he especially enjoyed reminiscing about days gone by and fond memories of trips to the beach. For 52 years, James was lovingly cared for by his mother, with whom he shared a deep love and admiration.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Marie Tucker Inman; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friend, Tim Bredamus; and his wonderful caretakers whom he often called his “girlfriends.”
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Creasey Chapel Church Cemetery, 73 Creasey Chapel Road, Stuart, Virginia, with Rev. Kenneth Terry officiating.
