James "Jimbo" Robert Head, Jr.

James “Jimbo” Robert Head, Jr., 64, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. He was born March 16, 1962, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late James Robert Head, Sr. and Laura Hester Brim Head.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Sowers and her husband Billy Sowers, his friend for many years; and nephew, Marlin Mabe.

James was of the Christian faith. He was employed with Stone Dynamics for more than 20 years, where he worked as a tow motor driver. James enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had many interests that kept him busy. He loved fishing, working on and looking at old cars, spending time outdoors, mowing his yard, and listening to music. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, “Lottie.” Most of all, James loved his family and will be remembered for the many years he lovingly devoted himself to caring for his mother.

He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Head; two sisters, Margaret Tilley (Chris) and Patricia Foley (Mark); nieces, Tammy Pomeroy and Melissa Conley; nephews, Billy Wayne Sowers and Jacob Foley; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 200 John Redd Boulevard, Collinsville, Virginia, from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026. Also, at Wright Funeral Service - Martinsville Chapel, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
