James Lamar Cook

James Lamar Cook, 57 of Narrows, Virginia departed this life on January 1, 2023 at his home.  Born September 18, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois he was a son of Johnny and Wanda Humphrey Cook. 
James lived a full life, loving to cookout, acting as a handyman and carpenter, travelling, or just in spending precious time with his grandbabies.
Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his parents; wife, Stephanie Halsey Cook; son; Nicholas Cain Cook of Huntington, WV; daughters, Brittany Ladawn Cook of Shady Springs, WV, and Ashley Cook of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Jayden Spicer, Haley Spicer, Kayden Spicer, Bently Wall Spicer, Seth Slavey, Ethan Morgan, and Aden Gunter; a brother, Johnny Lamar Cook, Jr. (Laura) of Beckley; and  sisters, Lora Sue Morgan of West Virginia, Lisa Massey (Rocky) of Daniels, WV, and Stephanie White (Nathaniel) of Charleston, WV.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the Pearisburg First Christian Church with Pastor Kelly Keffer officiating.  Funeral Services will conclude at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA.  The family will receive friends in the Pearisburg First Christian Church on Friday, January 6, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Kendall Funeral Home to assist in offsetting any funeral expenses.  A guestbook is available to send condolences by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Cook family.
