James Lee Alexander Koger

James Lee Alexander Koger, 42, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024. He was born April 8, 1982, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Robert Lee Glenn and the late Robin Vanessa Koger.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by, paternal grandfather, Robert Mason; maternal grandparents, James Elbert Koger and Ruth Ann (Smith) Koger; aunt, Shirley Ann Glenn-Koger; and uncle, Delano Elbert Koger.James attended Antioch Christian Church. He enjoyed wrestling, watching Dragon Ball Z. He was described as a gentle giant and loved sharing jokes to make others laugh. He loved his dog, Groot, and spending time with his family and friends, especially playing with his niece and nephew. James’ enjoyed setting many fireworks off every year in celebration of Independence Day.In addition to his father, he is survived by paternal grandmother, Josephine Glenn; sister, Lauralee Ann Koger; aunts, Verna Mae Zapata (Francisco), Debra Jean Koger, Nancy Gale Koger, Felicia Jewett (Greg), Jantje Koger; uncles, Michael A. Koger (Lois), Terry Wayne Glenn, and Richard Dean Glenn; great aunt, Virginia Koger; cousin/brother, Francisco Zapata; niece, Applania Denae Gravely; nephew, Antonio Tre’Von Muse (Antigone Dandridge); great nephews, Kali Zy’n-Amir Muse, and Y’veon Zeureh Muse; as well as numerous cousins and friends.A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Eugene Reynolds officiating.
