James Lee Yopp

Mr. James Lee Yopp, age 78, of Cana, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 with his loving family by his side at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born on December 23, 1945 in Surry County to the late Alfred and Iris Blackburn Yopp. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Tania Beketov Yopp; daughters, Kimberly Phillips (Eddie), Jackie Taylor (Ralph), Amy Smith, Donna Blevins; sons, Otis McCraw (Leslie), Frankie McCraw; seventeen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, sisters, Bonnie Hooley, and Betty Freeman (Thomas); brothers, Mike Yopp (Janice), Doug Yopp (Shirley). In addition to his parents, Mr. Yopp was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Gallimore. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with service conducted by Rev. Eddie Phillips and Rev. Trent Lyons. Burial will follow at Willow Hill Moravian Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 645 Zepher Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.
