James Miles McAlister
James “Mac” Miles McAlister, 77, of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024. He was born May 3, 1946, in the town of Highlands, New York to the late Michael J. Milano, Sr. and Florence G. Wood Milano.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Linda Balough McAlister; sons, Johnathan McAlister, and James “Jimmy” McAlister; sister, Diane L. Milano; and brothers, Michael J. Milano, Jr., and James J. “GG” Milano.Mac proudly served the United States in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was very much involved in the POW MIA agency. He was a member of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission; a life member of the RMEF; a citizen member of the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association; a member of the American Legion and a proud supporter of America’s Veterans. He had a great passion for hunting and spent a great deal of time pursuing that passion. He was of the Catholic faith.He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Tucker (Adam) and Teresa Hines (Tyler); son, Jeffrey McAlister, grandchildren, Angelena Tucker (Ben), Aubrey Tucker (Maggie), Crystal Blair, Justin McAlister (Elizabeth), Jared McAlister, Andrew Hines, Sara Hines, Caitlin McAlister, and Jacy McAlister (Brandon); several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.The funeral will be Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with Ricky Rogers officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial park in the family mausoleum. Military Honors will be presented by Veterans Honor Guard of Martinsville & Henry County.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
