James Terry Adams

James Terry Adams, age 61, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born in Rocky Mount, Virginia, on February 8, 19642, to James Edgar Adams and Shelby Jean McCrickard Adams. He is not only preceded in death by his father; but his sister, Phyllis Adams Chitwood; and grandparents, James Ernest Adams, Viola May Adams, Matthew McCrickard, and Ida McCrickard. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Kitty W. Adams; daughters, Heather Adams (Anthony Bousman) and Jessica “Rue” Adams (Jason Hurt); special dog, Daisy Mae; mother, Shelby Jean Adams; sister, Brenda Adams McBride; and lots of aunts, an uncle, nieces and nephews, and cousins. 

James was a devoted husband and loving father for 43 wonderful years. He found his greatest joy in the simple things — working on the farm, hunting and fishing, and spending time with the people he loved most. For 38 years, he worked as a skilled electrician, taking pride in doing an honest day’s work and helping anyone who needed a hand. James was a gentle, soft-spoken man with a kind heart, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family. 

Visitation for friends will be held November 10, 2025, from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville, Virginia. A funeral service will be held for Mr. Adams on November 11, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville, Virginia, with Pastors Mike Gallimore and Brandon Johnson officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Adams Family Cemetery in Snow Creek, Virginia.
