James W. McDaniel

James W. McDaniel (Jim), 81, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2026.

He was born October 16, 1946, to Rutherford and Hettie McDaniel. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gilda and Barbara McDaniel, and his brothers, David, John, Larry, and Carl McDaniel.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Lloyd) Erickson; grandchildren, Spencer (Rachel) Erickson, Christian (Lauren) Erickson, Landon Erickson; and three great-grandchildren, Rilee Erickson, Sawyer Erickson, Léon Erickson-Brown; and his brother, Steve (Kathy) McDaniel.

A graveside ceremony will be held at Den Hill Cemetery in Christiansburg, Virginia on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
