Janice Campbell Chaney

Janice Campbell Chaney, age 73 entered into rest on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Chatham Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 15, 1951 in Danville, Virginia to the late Lena Hedrick Campbell and the late Walter Douglas Campbell.

She attended Emanuel Episcopal Church and worked for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Dry Fork community for over 25 years until her retirement. She loved vegetable gardening and working in her flower gardens, and she will always be remembered as a kindhearted and devoted mother, sister, and friend to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Fitzgerald (Junior Bray); her stepdaughter, Michelle Taylor; her sister, Darlene Wilkins; special aunt, Gin Brown; special sister-in-law, Rebecca Fitzgerald; and her beloved furry friends, Beau Beau, Buddy, and Foxy Ann.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her first husband, David Allan Fitzgerald, and her second husband, John Edward Chaney.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
