Janice Elizabeth (Bennett) Phillips

Mrs. Janice Elizabeth Bennett Phillips, age 78 of Mount Airy, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 2, 2026, at the SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. Mrs. Phillips was born on May 31, 1948, in Surry County to the late Raleigh Ogene and Elizabeth Mattie Holden Bennett. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, especially attending each and every sporting event that her children and grandchildren were involved in. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Ken Phillips (Ann Katherine), Kemp Phillips (Lisa), Kent Phillips (Amy); seven grandchildren, Logan Phillips Watson (Harry), Carter Phillips, Kemp Phillips, Jr., Grace Phillips, Elizabeth Bennett Phillips, Kentlee Phillips, Karson Phillips; four sisters, Mary Bennett Crotts, Annie Mae Bennett Dunford, Susan Bennett, Iris Bennett Harold; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther Bennett (Joann), Ogene Bennett (Martha); along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wade Otis Phillips. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM AM Oakdale Cemetery with Reverend Randy Llewelyn officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
