Janice Faye Fisher

Janice Faye Young Fisher, 88, of Salem, Va. passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Born on Tuesday, October 20, 1936, in Little Creek, Va. to the late Dewey and Effie Young.

In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Munsey, Dorothy Joplin, Muriel Davis, and Debbie Martin; brothers, Woody Young, Ernest Young, and Buford Young.

Janice had a variety of interests, with her family time being her top priority. She also had a passion for collecting antiques. Additionally, Janice enjoyed feeding birds, an activity that brought her closer to nature, and she took pleasure in admiring beautiful flowers and appreciating their colors and scents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Curtis Fisher; her daughter, Vicki Wood; son, Todd Fisher (Rae); brothers, David Young, and Grady Young; sisters, Joyce Kincaid (Jim), Judy Gauthier (Ray); grandchildren, Kelly Wood, Katie Wood, Maddox Fisher, and Kian Fisher; great-grandchildren, Cora Tolbert, Wyatt Tolbert, Dallas Tolbert, and Oleta Elkins.

The family invites friends to join them on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Locust Grove United Methodist Church, located at 3415 Locust Grove Lane, Salem, Va. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m., officiated by Pastor Ben Lockhart.

Refreshments will be served in the church fellowship hall for all guests after the service.
