Janice Peterson Carlyle

Janice Peterson Carlyle, age 90, of Blacksburg, Virginia died, Monday, November 2, 2026. She was born in Lake City, Minnesota on April 12, 1936, to the late Robert and Celia Mountin Peterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Neal and Elsie Peterson; and her sister, Marjorie Weinrich. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Carlyle; children, Diane Finn (Ray), Terry Speckmeier (Connie), Cheryl White (Mark), and Lewis “Bear” Carlyle (Danielle); grandchildren, Dawn Speckmeier, Jason Strickland, Cory Roberts, Kurt Roberts, and Brittanie Newell; great-grandchildren, Jacob Lewis, Madison Strickland, Maci Strickland, Dane Newell, Lenox Newell, Logan Roberts, Emily Roberts, Austin Roberts; and great-great-granddaughter, Emory Rose Pace. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Blacksburg Christian Fellowship. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Warm Hearth Foundation, 2387 Warm Drive, Blacksburg, VA 24060, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
