Jason Blu Hedman

December 19, 1972 - October 19, 2026

Some people leave behind a legacy measured by their accomplishments. Others leave a legacy measured by the lives they touched. Jason was the rare person who did both.

Jason Blu Hedman, 53, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was born on December 19, 1972, in Riverton, Wyoming, to Jon Hedman and Katherine Hedman.

Jason was a remarkable man — brilliant, driven, successful, generous, fiercely loyal, and unapologetically himself. He had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and an incredible ability to make even the hardest days a little lighter. He was brutally honest, often hilariously so, but beneath his tough exterior was an enormous heart.

Jason proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his professional career, including his time at Noregon, he passionately worked on JPRO and was far more than a product manager or a leader. He was a mentor, a visionary, a trusted friend, and, to many, family. He believed in people, sometimes before they believed in themselves. He challenged those around him to be better, think bigger, and never settle for less than they were capable of achieving. His influence extended far beyond the workplace, shaping careers, building confidence, and changing lives.

Above all else, Jason loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his family, and his friends. He loved deeply, gave generously, and was fiercely loyal to those fortunate enough to be part of his life. He had a way of making people feel like family, and his love was often expressed through laughter, thoughtful gestures, and simply being there when someone needed him.

An avid outdoorsman, Jason enjoyed hunting and fishing and treasured the experiences and friendships that came with both. Music was another of his great passions. He loved playing music, attending heavy metal concerts, where he broke his “wooo!!!”, and enjoying the energy and excitement of a great performance. He also loved his dogs, cooking for family and friends, and bringing people together over good food and even better stories. And anyone who knew Jason knew that chocolate wasn’t just a favorite treat — in his eyes, it deserved its very own food group.

Jason was a natural storyteller with an unforgettable sense of humor. He could turn an ordinary conversation into a hilarious memory, deliver a perfectly timed joke, and find laughter even in life’s most difficult moments. He was opinionated, witty, sometimes stubborn, and always authentically himself. You never quite knew what Jason might say next, but you could almost always count on it being memorable.

His greatest gift, however, was the way he impacted the people around him. He inspired confidence, encouraged ambition, celebrated the successes of others, and offered unwavering support to those he loved. Whether he was sharing his wisdom, telling a joke, or simply spending time with the people who mattered most, Jason had a way of making life a little brighter.

In addition to his parents, Jon and Katherine Hedman, Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Debra B. Taylor; his daughters, Victoria Hedman Edwards (Travis), Elizabeth Hedman, and Amanda Taylor; his sons, Eddie Neal and Evan Taylor (Kyla); his sister, Jessica Scott Hedman; his brother, Jacob Hedman; his niece, Ruby Scott; his nephew, Spencer Scott; and his cherished grandchildren, Emery Marshall, Paislee Edwards, and Grayson Edwards.

Jason’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Yet his legacy lives on through his family, the friendships he built, the people he inspired, and the countless stories that will continue to be told with laughter, love, and perhaps a little of the sarcasm he was so well known for.

Jason was truly one of a kind. His presence was unforgettable, his heart was enormous, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. He lived boldly, loved fiercely, laughed often, and left this world better because he was in it.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
