Jason Ray Rasnake
Mommy’s and Daddy’s very “special” angel here on earth has gained his heavenly wings and is now God’s angel.
Jason Ray Rasnake born on May 18, 1985 to Kenny and Teresa Rasnake gained his angel wings on March 30, 2025 and is now one of God’s heavenly angels.
Jason is preceded in death by his Dad, Kenneth Ray Rasnake; grandparents, Jess and Juanita Rasnake, Essie and Anna Belle Fisher; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his Mom, Teresa Fisher Rasnake; several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
Jason was a very special person, even though he could never walk or talk he was a very happy child. He loved to ride his wheelchair and go riding in his van. He could crawl, and would sit and play with his toys for hours. He had a couple of special toys at different times in his life. He loved the Tad Frog, it talked; played music; and had flashing lights. In the last years he had a fire truck and a red SUV that played music, had lights, and sirens and the engine would roar. He played with the SUV even after he was confined to bed. The common ground here was the music and flashing lights. He would sit back in a bean bag and watch the CMA Awards for over 2 hours, it was incredible to watch his eyes light up. He also loved to watch his Dad play guitar for him. The last afternoon into the morning when he passed, I put the TV on Classic Country and let it play softly. I pray it helped relax him.
I need to thank the people that helped with his last days; Carilion Hospice, the second floor nurses at Lewis Gale-Montgomery who were so compassionate and understanding with all of us; Dr Tuono, Jason’s doctor while we were in the hospital; and Connie Robertson, Jason’s caregiver for the last couple of years, she helped at home and could give me a break for a few hours, she also stayed with me at the hospital when we knew the time was close. She has not only helped with care, but has been a good friend. Also, I want to thank family and friends that have visited, called, sent thoughts and prayers; I love you all.
I know this has been kind of long, but this is my last tribute to my precious Jason to let people know who he was, even though he was dealt a bad hand, he handled it with spunk, love, and lots of smiles. He will always have my heart, and my love. He was very loving and very loved. I pray he is happy and having the most fun ever. Thanks to Kendall Funeral Home.
