Jason Ronnie Womack
Jason Ronnie Womack, 32, passed away on June 10, 2025, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on March 1, 1993, in Brooklyn, New York, Jason was the son of Mildred Womack-Mitchell. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Robert Womack Sr. and Rosa Carter Womack, his aunt, Gwenda Womack-Mann, and his uncle, Thomas Womack.
Jason was a graduate of Tunstall High School, where he was well-liked by his peers. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing, watching movies, watching Dallas Cowboys games with his Pops, and bowling with his nieces and nephews. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. He eagerly anticipated his nightly phone calls with his Stonewall Buddies.
Jason’s memory will be cherished by his mother, Mildred Womack Mitchell (Kevin); his four sisters, Latasha Womack, Jennifer Womack, Starquasia Grenade, and Righteous Stephenson; his four brothers, Antoine Womack, Raymond Womack, Lamar Womack (Cassandra), and Elijah Grenade; his two uncles, Robert Womack Jr. and Tavis Mann Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
Jason’s unwavering faith and dignity in the face of his illness left a lasting impact on all who encountered him. He often expressed his belief in the goodness of God, even in his pain and struggles.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home, 302 Sellers Street, Martinsville, Virginia. Interment will follow at Mount Herman Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
